Focus On What You Can Control

There’s a lot in life I can’t control and that used to frustrate me. People’s choices. The past. The future. The unexpected. I’ve learned the hard way that carrying what God never asked me to carry only wears me out.
But I’ve also learned this: God isn’t asking us to control everything. He’s just asking us to be faithful with what’s our hands.
The truth is that you and I can’t fix everything, but we can control:
• Our attitude
• Our reactions
• Our daily walk with Jesus
• The way we love others
It’s like the farmer in our community. He can’t make it rain, but he still prepares the soil. He works hard where he can, and trusts God with the rest.
Paul put it this way in Romans 12:18: “If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.”
You may not be able to change someone’s heart. You may not be able to stop the storm. But you can choose how you respond.
So today, don’t waste energy on what’s outside your control. Focus on faithfulness. Do what you can. And trust God to do what only He can.
Have a great week, church! Love you all.
